Seahorse Creature Mark
Research
The seahorse is a delicate and friendly creature. Through my reference photos, I found the most important components of the seahorse are the rounded stomach, long snout, spiral tail, and dorsal fin.
Initial Sketches
In my sketching process, I explored how I can represent the key components of a seahorse using simple shapes. I experimented with the use of negative space to depict the texture and patterns of a seahorse's exoskeleton.
Digital Iterations
When moving my design process into Adobe Illustrator, I explored using round curves as well as sharp edges to comprise the seahorse. I simplified my sketches even further, aiming for a logo-like composition.
Final Mark & Brand Logo
Branding Application
Seawear is a fun and functional brand for all ages with the intent to create stylish products for all your beach needs. The bold and rounded typography establishes the playfulness of the brand that pairs perfectly with seahorse creature mark, while the color pallete focuses on blues to stay on the ocean theme.
